Indiana Golf Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Indiana Golf Foundation
Introduction
The Indiana Golf Foundation, established in 1994, exists to protect and advance the game of golf across Indiana. It brought the preexisting Indiana Junior Golf Program—originally founded in 1987—into its organizational structure, allowing the junior program to expand further. In 1996 the Foundation launched a scholarship initiative to help financially support students who had been active participants in the Indiana Junior Golf Program.
Scholarship overview
The scholarship is intended for students with a history in the Indiana Junior Golf Program and recognizes academic achievement, personal character consistent with golf’s values, and, when applicable, financial need.
Eligibility and selection criteria
To be considered for an Indiana Golf Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Participation in the Indiana Junior Golf Program for at least two years.
- Strong academic record: a GPA above 3.0 and completion of either the ACT or SAT.
- Demonstrated character: evidence of sportsmanship, integrity, perseverance, and other traits valued in golf.
- Financial need: applicants who show financial need will receive additional consideration during the selection process.
Selection process
Candidates who satisfy the eligibility requirements are reviewed based on their junior program participation, academic qualifications, personal character, and demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to those who combine sustained involvement with the junior program, high academic standards, and the personal qualities associated with the game of golf.
