Introduction
The FICPA Scholarship Foundation provides financial support to students studying accounting or closely related majors who intend to become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the state of Florida. Applications for the 2026 cycle will open on January 1.
Award Details
- Scholarship amounts: awards of up to $5,000.
- Purpose: to assist students pursuing a CPA career and working toward Florida certification requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be enrolled as a college student (full-time or part-time as defined by your institution).
- Be majoring in Accounting or a related field.
- Be a member of the FICPA (student membership is free).
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum 3.0 GPA in upper-level accounting courses at the time you apply.
- Be at least a rising senior or enrolled in a graduate program, and have completed at least one upper-division accounting course by the application date.
- Intend to sit for the CPA exam and be actively pursuing the requirements for CPA certification in Florida.
- Express a plan or desire to work in Florida after certification.
- Be a U.S. citizen or hold permanent resident status.

Applicants must be attending one of the Foundation’s partnering colleges or universities in Florida that offer an accredited accounting program. Qualified institutions include:

About the FICPA Scholarship Foundation
Since 1959, the FICPA Scholarship Foundation has invested in students preparing for careers in accounting. In 2025 the Foundation awarded more than 60 scholarships to outstanding accounting students from 20 universities across Florida, continuing its mission to support the next generation of CPAs in the state.
