The Sallie Mae Scholarship, valued at $2,000, is exclusively available to legal inhabitants of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and any US Territory who are 17 years of age or older at the time of application. Applicants must also satisfy one of the following four eligibility criteria at the time of application:
- Being a parent with a child currently attending an accredited college or university within the United States;
- Being a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university within the United States;
- Being a parent with a child who is a high school senior in the United States;
- Being a high school junior or senior student with plans to attend an accredited college or university within the United States, within a year of high school graduation.
