This initiative is designed to assist students who hail from the five boroughs of New York City, with a particular emphasis on those from Queens, who are pursuing a degree in live entertainment, specifically music. The career paths that this degree can lead to include performance, live production, music engineering, music business, and other related fields of study.

Qualification Criteria and Guidelines:

  • The applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student with a declared major, enrolled at an accredited college or university at the time of the award in the fall semester.
  • While the applicant can attend a university anywhere in the U.S., they must have a permanent address within one of the five boroughs of New York City.
  • The applicant must be currently registered at an accredited college or university.
  • The applicant must be working towards a degree that is related to a career in live entertainment.
  • The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • This award is a one-time payment that will be made directly to a qualified educational institution.

Instructions for Application:

  • Fill out the Scholarship Application Form.
  • Provide a student copy of your college transcript to verify your major and GPA.
  • Submit a resume or CV.
  • Provide proof of enrollment from your educational institution.
  • Provide two (2) recommendation letters from professionals or instructors who are not affiliated with Live Nation or the industry.
  • Write an essay discussing the inspirational moments, people, or aspects of the industry that motivate you to pursue a career in the music industry. The essay should not exceed 500 words and should outline your long-term professional goals within the live entertainment industry.
  • In addition to the application essay, the scholarship recipient may be asked to write a final impact essay at the end of the school year to update Music Forward on how the funds have supported their academic journey and progress towards their long-term career goals.
