Please read the scholarship instructions below thoroughly. Failure to follow these requirements will result in disqualification from consideration.

Deadline
- Applications must be submitted by July 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Submissions received after this date and time will not be accepted.

Eligibility
To be considered for the Annie Ibok Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a rising college freshman (recent high school graduates will receive priority).
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Have attended and graduated from a high school located in Washington State or California (this includes all counties in both states).

Required Application Materials
Submit all items listed below. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
1. Completed application form.
2. One scanned copy of your high school transcript, signed by a school official.
- Filename: Last_First_Transcript.pdf
3. One academic letter of recommendation (must be signed).
- Filename: Last_First_LOR.pdf
- Signature rules: If the letter is submitted as a native/digital file (not a scanned image), it must include a digital signature. If the letter is provided as a scanned document, it must show the recommender’s physical (handwritten) signature.
4. One current resume.
- Filename: Last_First_Resume.pdf
5. One high-resolution headshot (business professional or business casual; no selfies).
- Filename: Last_First_Headshot.jpg ( .png and .jpeg accepted)
6. A written response to one of the essay prompts listed below.
- Note: Preference for the award will be given to applicants who answer Question 1.

Essay Prompts (select and answer one)
1. What traits present in Annie Ibok do you recognize in yourself, and how will those qualities support your success at your HBCU?
2. Describe the civil or political environment at the time and place your HBCU was founded. How does that history influence your decision to attend?
3. What does “give back” mean to you? How does this concept align with your HBCU’s mission, and how do you plan to give back after obtaining an education there?
4. Historically, HBCUs have offered educational opportunities to underserved and underrepresented students of color. In today’s world, are HBCUs still relevant and necessary? Explain your viewpoint.

Remember: all required documents must be submitted by the deadline and follow the specified filename and signature guidelines to remain eligible for award consideration.
