Introduction
Each year the Greater Kansas City, MO NAWIC Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to students who are studying construction-related subjects or training for a trade. Applicants must follow the eligibility rules and submission requirements below and complete the official application. All materials must be received or postmarked by March 31, 2026. This deadline is strictly enforced.

Eligibility
- Purpose: The Foundation’s goal is to support and strengthen the construction industry by providing financial assistance to students enrolled in construction-related academic programs.
- Equal consideration: Applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, sex, religion, disability, age, or national origin.
- NAWIC membership restriction: Members of the National Association of Women in Construction and their immediate family members (husband, wife, son, daughter, father, mother, sister, or brother) are ineligible. Student members of NAWIC may apply unless an immediate family member is a NAWIC member.
- Enrollment requirements: Applicants must be full-time students pursuing a degree or associate degree in a construction-related field and must have at least one term of study remaining. Part-time students are not eligible.
- Renewal: Scholarships are not automatically renewed. Recipients may reapply each year.

Applicant instructions
- Complete every section of the application (downloadable). Type or print legibly in blue or black ink. If a question does not apply, write N/A.
- The applicant is responsible for making sure the application, all attachments, and official transcript(s) are sent and received by the Foundation by the deadline.
- Signed applications may be emailed, but the signature must be on the document before scanning and sending. Email copies must be received by March 31, 2026 to be accepted.
- Do not send application materials by registered or certified mail.

Required materials (all must be submitted and postmarked/received by March 31, 2026)
1. Completed and signed application form.
2. Attachments for Section III (Construction Interest and Participation). Please label each attachment sheet with your name.
3. Official transcript of grades and courses (official transcript).

Selection and awards
- Trustees of the Greater Kansas City, MO NAWIC Scholarship Foundation will review applications and select recipients at their discretion.
- Selection factors include grade point average, financial need, demonstrated interest in the construction industry, extracurricular involvement, special achievements, year of study, and residency.
- Applicants will be notified of award decisions.

Post-award requirements and disbursement
- Prior to disbursement for the fall semester, recipients must provide verification of fall enrollment with a class schedule. After the spring semester ends, recipients must submit an official spring-semester transcript showing satisfactory academic progress. Continued eligibility must be maintained.
- Scholarship checks will be sent in the recipient’s name to the Financial Aid Office at the recipient’s school.
