Each year Minnesota Hockey provides one-time, non-repayable scholarships of $1,500 to qualifying high school seniors who are active, registered members of Minnesota Hockey. These awards may be used at any accredited post–high school academic institution.

Eligibility
- Must be a Minnesota resident and a high school senior.
- Must be a current, registered Minnesota Hockey member participating on one of the following affiliated teams:
a) Junior Gold team;
b) Rec League team; or
c) Girls’ 19 & Under team that is affiliated with a Minnesota Hockey Association and/or District.
- Note: Players who participate under the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) are NOT eligible for these scholarships.

Application requirements (incomplete submissions will not be considered)
Applicants must submit all items listed below:
1. A completed scholarship application form.
2. A personal letter describing why you are applying, your academic objectives, and how hockey has influenced your development.
3. An official high school transcript showing current GPA and class rank (if available). Include SAT and/or ACT scores if applicable.
4. Two letters of recommendation: one from your current Minnesota Hockey coach and one from a teacher, school counselor, or community leader.

Selection criteria
To be considered, applicants must meet the following academic and conduct standards:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be a student in good standing at their school (not on probation or suspension).
- Award use must begin by the 2026–2027 academic year; scholarships cannot be deferred beyond that year.

Award disbursement and required follow-up
- The $1,500 scholarship, if awarded, will be sent directly to the recipient’s chosen school financial aid office to be applied toward educational expenses.
- Upon notification of award, recipients must provide Minnesota Hockey with:
- Name of the school they will attend,
- Planned enrollment date,
- A copy of the school’s acceptance letter, and
- The mailing/address information for the school’s Financial Aid Office.

Deadline and submission
- Complete applications and all supporting documents must be received by the scholarship committee no later than March 15, 2026.
