Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley
Introduction
The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley oversees scholarship funds created by individuals, families, businesses, and civic groups to support high school and other students pursuing postsecondary education. These awards are charitable grants that do not need to be repaid and may be applied to legitimate education-related costs such as tuition, fees, and textbooks.
Application and eligibility
The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley Scholarship Application opens access to more than 50 individual scholarships for students in the Hudson Valley. The single application includes an integrated eligibility quiz that identifies which scholarships you qualify for. Certain awards request additional supporting materials; some may require you to download, print, complete, and submit a separate form to your school’s guidance office or directly to the Foundations.
Required documentation
Most scholarships request academic documentation such as your most recent transcript, a resume, a personal essay, and a minimum of two letters of recommendation from individuals who are not family members. Financial documentation — for example, the Student Aid Report summary you receive after filing the FAFSA — may be requested but is optional for some awards.
