Bob Allen Scholarships

Overview In 1998 the Board of Directors of the New York State Amateur Hockey established a scholarship program for its members. In June 2000 the association honored its long-time President and Director Emeritus, Bob Allen, by naming the awards after him. Purpose and award amount Each year at the New York State Amateur Hockey Association’s Annual Meeting, four scholarships are presented to graduating high school or prep school seniors who will be continuing their education at a college, vocational, or trade school. Beginning in 2024, each scholarship award has been increased to $2,500. Selection criteria Recipients are chosen based on their school involvement, contributions to their community, and participation in youth sports. Payment Scholarship funds are disbursed directly to the educational institutions that the awardees will attend.
