WAO Outstanding Student Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Wyoming Admissions Officers
Overview
Only one nominee may be submitted by each high school. Scholarships will be awarded to Wyoming high school seniors based on a recommendation from a high school administrator or counselor and the student’s personal essay explaining why they should be selected. Each school may nominate just one student.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a current Wyoming high school senior at the time of application.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 (through graduation) and an ACT score of at least 18 are required. Official transcripts and test scores must be provided with the application and again after graduation.
- This is a single, one-time award of $2,000, paid directly to the institution the recipient chooses. The funds must be used within one year of high school graduation.
- The scholarship can be applied to any accredited community college, college, university, or trade school, in-state or out-of-state.
Application requirements
- A recommendation from a high school administrator or counselor.
- A personal essay from the student describing why they should be considered for the scholarship.
- Official transcripts and official ACT score documentation submitted both at the time of application and post-graduation.

Applications that are incomplete or missing recommendations, official transcripts, and/or test scores will not be considered.
