Adirondack Branch Memorial Scholarship

In addition to supporting the national AAUW Educational Funds, the branch provides its own Adirondack Branch Memorial Scholarship. Through the years, contributions to the fund have been received to honor the memory of various members who have passed away. The scholarship is awarded annually to one or more area students presently attending or returning to an accredited college, studying full-time for a degree at the associates, bachelor or graduate level. The Branch awarded a $1000 scholarship to one recipient for the 2021-22 academic year.
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP, you must ALREADY be one of the following:
A) Attending a two year accredited college, working for an Associate degree;
B) Attending a four year accredited college, working for a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree;
C) Completing a two-year college, already accepted into a four-year Bachelor Program (a letter of acceptance must be enclosed);
D) Returning to college after previously completing at least 1 full year (a letter of acceptance must be enclosed);
E) OR a Graduate student who has earned at least 4 graduate hours credit.
General requirements: you must be a full-time student and a resident of the area served by the Adirondack Branch of AAUW.
Criteria for awarding scholarship: scholastic achievement, need, commitment to college program that indicates probable completion of college.
The selection committee meets during March, so all components of your application must be received by us no later than March 1. Notification takes place around May 1, and the scholarship recipient(s) are honored at our Spring Banquet.
